The challenge
For the summer of 2017, Slimpie came up with a fun online retail competition. By entering a code that was printed on the packaging, customers could win one of the limited edition inflatable prices. And we were asked by Slimpie to make these premium inflatables.
Our solution and its execution
Slimpie GO, the pocket-sized to-go pack, is very convenient for the summer. Pool floats are also a convenient item during the summer. It was easy to make the connection. The Slimpie GO bottle was the basis for the design of the inflatable. The shape was perfect for a pool float: all the proportions are equal to the original. We did tweak the visual design a bit to maintain the readability of the text.
The sample looked very promising, so we could immediately continue with the production. As we always do, we tested all inflatables on their airtightness for 48 hours. The lucky winners also had to receive their price at their home address. To make the shipment of the pool floats easy, we packaged them in a full colour printed envelope, so they were ready to be sent off, which saved a lot of time. Especially when you have to send out 5000 of them…
A few weeks later, the loyal Slimpie-fans received their pool floats. Right on time, to enjoy them fully during the summer
